Show Transcript
Welcome, my name is Dr. Gina Stafford and I'm the director of Exceptional Student Education and Student Services for the School District of DeSoto County. This year, we're expanding counseling opportunities for our students. We’ve increased the number of social workers in the district and we have partnered with Community Care as well as Charlotte Behavioral Health to provide counseling services in the schools. We've expanded these offerings to ensure all of our students have access to Mental Health Services if deem necessary. If you have any concerns, about your child, you're now able to submit a counseling referral form and your child will be assessed by a professional to determine need. If District employees have concerns, they are able to submit a referral as well. If this happens, you will be contacted. Don't worry your child will never be assessed without your consent. In fact, you're required to be present at your child's assessment. If you're interested in your child receiving services our referral form may be found within the documents section of the student services web page on the school district of DeSoto County website: desotoschools.com. You could also get a hard copy of this form from your child's guidance counselor. If you have any questions pertaining to these services, you could contact me at Gina.Stafford@desotoschools.com or 863-494-0261. Thank you for your time and have a great day!
