SADD and SWAT Clubs Present "Teddy Bears" to Sheriff's Department!

Tuesday, DeSoto High School Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) clubs held an after school “teddy bear drive” - a donation event for the Sheriff's Department! The bears are given to children. An estimated 200 teddy bears were donated to policing agencies for when they have to go on difficult calls - especially involving small children left behind by absent and troubled parents or guardians. DeSoto County Sheriff Potter was present to accept the donation, and was very appreciative of the joint-clubs donation. The informal meeting, led by DHS teachers and School Resource Officers, also included pizza for club members!
