DeSoto High School is pleased to announce the creation of a "Moot Court" - an extra-curricular opportunity for students to learn and practice actual courtroom activities. The club's goal is to have its Moot Court team compete with other Florida schools. Under the supervision and encouragement of our Principal, Dr. White, they look forward to success in upcoming competitions.
According to the Cornell Law School website, "Moot court is a student activity that started at Harvard Law School in 1820 and is now found at almost every American law school. Moot court usually simulates the proceedings of appellate courts but can also simulate the proceedings of tribunals or international dispute resolution bodies."
