CAUTION: Partial Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8th

Desoto County will experience a partial solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, expected to impact us beginning at 1:44 p.m. and ending at 4:15 p.m. It is advised not to look directly at the sun during an eclipse to avoid permanent vision damage. *Sunglasses do not offer sufficient protection. Please be sure to speak with your children about the eclipse and the dangers of looking directly at the sun during this time today. Guardians should also use caution while driving during the time of the eclipse. We encourage everyone to be careful in car rider pickup lines, and be cautious of distracted drivers, and especially aware of students and pedestrians.
