Kristen Thompson, a West Elementary 2nd Grade teacher, has shared that 18 students worked hard during the 3rd quarter to apply their knowledge of ELA skills to become published authors! During their learning process, students focused specifically on story structure, author's purpose, literary elements, narrative writing, and handwriting skills. Each student also picked a title for their passage, and wrote (then illustrated) their narrative. The end result was a book titled "The Terrific Tales of Mrs. Thompson's Class." The new book was published through Studentreasures Publishing. Congratulations students!
