On Wednesday, February 27, DeSoto High School hosted a "meet & greet" for its new Head Football Coach, Cliff Lohrey.

Coach Lohrey met with the football players, both past and future, parents, and members of the community and shared his appreciation for being selected to work with such a group of fine young men, as well as work in a community that supports athletics as a means to building character and good citizens through sports.

Coach Lohrey will officially start at DHS on 3-04-24 and will be a P.E. and weightlifting teacher. Lohrey, 46 went 23-34 during his time at Crystal River, with his best season coming in 2017 when the Pirates finished 8-3. Crystal River finished 2-7 this past season.
