DHS Music Students Perform at Genesis Center!

On Thursday evening, February 15, twelve DeSoto High School students participated in the Heartland Honor Band Concert - an event held at Genesis Center in Lake Placid!

The concert was organized and presented by the Heartland Educational Consortium, and included band students from DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, and Okeechobee counties.

DHS musical performers were conducted by DHS band instructor Fernando Frank. The massive band of over 150 student musicians were nominated by their band directors for demonstrating a high level of performance on their instruments and for possessing strong music literacy skills.

In only 2 days of rehearsal, the students came together from their various backgrounds to perform a concert that provided participating students with the experience of performing challenging music with the full instrumentation. And there was a full house to watch them shine!
