The DeSoto County School District is proud to offer Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), a high-quality early learning program designed to prepare our youngest learners for kindergarten success. Our VPK program provides a nurturing, engaging environment where children build strong foundations in literacy, math, social skills, and confidence. We are committed to supporting families and ensuring every child begins their educational journey ready to learn, grow, and thrive.
Summer 2026 VPK
Summer VPK is for students entering kindergarten for the 26-27 school year.
June 2, 2026 - July 28, 2026
Monday - Thursday at West Elementary School
Time: 7:15 am - 4:45 pm

2026-2027 School Year VPK
The school year VPK program is for students who are 4 years of age, preparing to enter the 27-28 school year. This program follows the school calendar and will be offered at each elementary school.
Monday - Friday (all elementary schools)
7:45-11:30 - Free VPK
7:45-2:30- Extended Day $100 per week
