RFP 2526-001 FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT COMPANY- OPEN
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the purpose of obtaining responses from caterers and vendors to provide meal services for the DeSoto County School Board (SDDC), School Food Authority (SFA). Child Nutrition Programs operated may include the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Afterschool Snack Program (ASP), School Dinner Program (SDP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). Meal service may also be requested during declared emergencies or when emergency shelters are in operation due to man-made or natural disasters.
DeSoto County School District (SFA/sponsor) is a public school located in Arcadia, Florida. The goal of the Food Service Program is to secure a Food Service Management Company (FSMC) to provide healthy, minimally processed, wholesome, appealing meals and a la carte food items, with maximum participation for our student population and staff.
The DeSoto County School Board (SDDC) is accepting Proposals for Qualifications from Food Service Management Companies (FSMC) for the purpose of providing complete management and operations of all food service facilities for the DeSoto County School Board (SDDC), Florida School Food Authority (SFA). Meal programs will include the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. The DeSoto County School Board is a public school district located in DeSoto County, Florida.
A successful contractor will be responsible for conducting a food service program which fulfills the objectives of the District and has the capability to provide food service support during emergency situations or emergency operations. Proposers are advised to keep in mind the primary goals of
the District when compiling their proposals. District objectives are included but not limited to the information in the Bid packet attached.
Thank you to all the vendors that attended the opening meeting on 1/28/26. All submissions were accepted asd they had met all qualifications.
The public Evaluation Committee Meeting will be held on February 4th, 2026 in the main Board Room at 2:00PM. Evaluation members will bring their questions and discuss the proposals in order to score and rank them. Public is welcome. Once selected, the chosen proposal will be submitted to FDACS for approval as well as the School Board.
We are hoping for a Board submission date for final approval on 2/24/26.- all pending FDACS return of review timing.

Desoto County School District intends to enter into an emergency-use zero-dollar “stand-by” contract with one (1) or more Consultant(s) who will, as needed, provide a wide range of disaster management, mitigation, and recovery professional services.
We are seeking a company to assist with Federal Grant Assistance Services, Debris Monitoring, Development/Revision of Plans, Documentation and Reporting, Conducting Exercises, and Program Management and Administrative Services Assistance. Specifications are included in the attached RFP 2526-002

RFP #2324-0037 High School & Remodel and Renovation of Continuum Campus Facilities - AWARDED
The School District of DeSoto County (SDDC) has received an unsolicited proposal, “P3”, as outlined in Section 255.065, Florida Statutes. SDDC has determined that the proposal submitted serves a public purpose of a new high school and the remodeling and renovation of continuum campus facilities which will be used by SDDC as educational institutions. SDDC is now accepting additional proposals to furnish a turnkey solution to build the new high school as well as the renovation and remodeling of an existing elementary and middle school. All proposals shall include assistance in the acquisition and rezoning of the land necessary to complete the project(s) as well as the labor, services and materials to perform all work necessary and incidental to the design and construction of the new high school & remodel and renovation of continuum campus facilities.
All submittals for a Public-Private Partnership (P3) to build a new high school and the remodeling and renovation of continuum campus facilities (defined in aformentioned Design Criteria Package), will be received by the School District of DeSoto County (hereinafter the District), by 2:00PM Eastern Time on June 24, 2024 to the School District of DeSoto County, Purchasing Department, 530 LaSalona Ave, Arcadia, FL 34266. Proposals submitted to the School Board will be considered and a decision on the selection/ranking of the unsolicited proposal and the qualified proposals will be made by a Selection Committee designated by the Superintendent. There will be a non-mandatory public meeting for any interested parties. All proposals, both solicited and unsolicited, will be opened and reviewed by the Superintendent appointed Selection Committee after the proposal submission deadline noted above.
All submittals shall include an application fee made payable to the School District of DeSoto County (SDDC) of $25,000 to cover the costs of processing, reviewing, and evaluating individual proposals. The proposal application fee is non-refundable and shall be delivered to SDDC via certified check or money order with the proposal. Submissions must have the accompanying fee or will be returned without review or consideration. The preliminary application fee for this RFP shall be waived for any application fee previously submitted by a proposer in response to RFP #2324-0035. If extraordinary expenses associated with SDDC’s preliminary evaluation are encountered, SDDC may require additional fees from each proposer. SDDC reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and the SDDC School Board must authorize any final agreement for the proposed project.
A NON-MANDATORY pre-bid will be held at 11:00AM Eastern Time on June 10, 2024 via live virtual video conference for all interested parties.

A public bid selection committee will form at 12:45PM Eastern Time on August 15, 2024 in the School Board Chambers. Members of the public are welcome to observe.

The District is requesting proposals for Attorney(s) to serve the educational needs of students in a legally compliant manner and function as counsel to the School Board. Provide ancillary support to the Superintendent and District staff, especially in the area of education law. Further details and instructions are included in the RFP document as well as deadlines. The School Board of DeSoto County will hold a closed session for attorney interviews and related discussion on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the School Board Chambers.

Interviews were completed. The Board will vote on May 13, 2025 at the Board Meeting held in the Board Chambers at 5:30PM. The meeting is open to the Public. Results will be posted the next day after the Board Signatures and stamps are affixed.
The Board reviewed and evaluated the firms and voted to select Berg, Brewer, Kessler and Mowry PLLC Attorneys at Law for the 2025-2026 school year. The official Contract will be presented for Board approval at an upcoming meeting. Please see minutes from the May 13, 2025 Board meeting for details.
