Student Progression & Required Instruction
Student Progression Plan
This Student Progression Plan is developed annually and approved by the School Board of DeSoto County. This plan provides information pertaining to student progression from one grade to another based upon the mastery of standards. Graduation requirements and diploma pathways and options are also reviewed in this plan. Every year the plan is updated to align with current legislative requirements.

Most specifically, members of the instructional staff of the public schools, subject to the rules of the State Board of Education and the district school board, shall teach efficiently and faithfully, using the books and materials required that meet the highest standards for professionalism and historic accuracy, following the prescribed courses of study, and employing approved methods of instruction.
