Professional Learning
VECTOR SOLUTIONS
All employees of the School District of DeSoto County have access to a program called Vector Solutions (Vector Solutions can be accessed via Classlink). This program has a wide array of professional learning offerings. After a course is complete you can e-mail the certificate to Caitlin McHargue (Caitlin.McHargue) in the Department of Human Resources and she will update TRACK (our system that keeps record of professional learning completions/points).
Within the Vector Solutions System there are specific courses that will assist you in meeting FLDOE Certificate Renewal Requirements. List of those courses are provided within the attachments below. Please see the Certification webpage within the Human Resources website to see other options for obtaining professional learning points in these areas.
LITERACY SOLUTIONS
Literacy Solutions is a program the District offers its employees to obtain Reading and/or ESOL Endorsements. Courses can also be taken to fulfill the Reading 40 (point) requirement for Certificate renewal for specific subject areas. Literacy Solutions can be accessed via Classlink. out of district professional learning
Employees can obtain professional development points by attending professional learning opportunities outside of the district (ex. conferences). If you would like to be awarded points for a training/conference attended you will need to obtain pre-approval as well as a complete a follow-up activity.
