Kindergarten is learning about energy. They have investigated how heat changes objects and they have also been learning about shadows. Next, they will study sound energy.

First grade students are studying the Earth and the moon. They are observing the revolution and rotation of the Earth and moon. Please take your children outside to see the moon and to observe shadows.

Second grade and third grade will be learning about the weather. Students will measure the temperature inside and outside using thermometers. They will also study weather conditions.

Fourth and fifth grade students will learn about the solar system. In fourth grade, students will write reports about a planet and present their information to the class. In fifth grade, students will investigate the tilt of the Earth, moon phases, planets, and other objects in the solar system.

All students will be participating in Math/Science Day on May 16th. This day involves students seeing different animals, learning about math and science careers, and listening to guest speakers. Please join your child as they learn about different aspects of math and science.

In 21st Century, the fourth and fifth graders are reading Babe.  The third graders are reading Stone Fox.  We are working heavily with reading comprehension and vocabulary work with both of these novels.
