JROTC Uniform Wear Reference Guide

1.    The Army Garrison Cap

·

The garrison cap is worn on top of your head, the front vertical crease centered on your forehead. It is tilted slightly to the right, but should not touch your ear. Enlisted cadets wear the ROTC insignia, while cadet officers wear their rank on the garrison cap.

2.    Nameplate

Male cadets center the nameplate on the right pocket between the top seam and the pocket buttonhole. Female cadets center the nameplate on the right side, horizontally in line with the button as shown in the picture above.

3.    Awards and Decorations

·          Cadets should center their ribbons one-eighth inch above the top seam of the left pocket (centered above the horizontal line for female cadets). There should be no more than three ribbons across. You cannot start another row until you have three ribbons in that row. Please refer to the cadet reference guide for the order of ribbons worn. They are worn in order from top to bottom, from your right to left.

·          Medals are worn one-eighth of an inch below the top seam of the pocket. They are worn in order of precedence from right to left centered on your pocket flap. You cannot wear the medal and ribbon for an award at the same time.

4.    Questions?

·          If this page does not answer your questions, please talk to any JROTC officer. We will answer any questions you have to the best of our ability.
