DeSoto County High School SAC – School Advisory Council January 9, 2006 Attendance: Jolaine Konstantinidis, Betty Bynes, Jena Roberts, Lois Heine, Debi Barnwell, Chuck Poe, Celia Bateman, Kim Nugent, Karen Allen, Dan Dubbert, Trent Terry, Linda Shayman, Linda Hall The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Dan Dubbert. I. Minutes: motion to approve by Linda Shayman, seconded by Jena Roberts. II. Treasurer’s Report: Motion to approve by Betty Bynes, seconded by Jena Roberts. III. Old Business: A. SAC Secretary – we are still in need of a secretary for the School Advisory Council. B. Request for Funds from Ms. Heuer: This item has been tabled again due to Ms. Heuer’s absence from the meeting. C. Senior Superlatives - voting on 1/17/06. D. Schedule for next year - No decision made yet. IV. Reports: A. Renaissance – no report. Ms. Heuer not present at meeting. B. Seniors - are ordering Cap & Gowns and announcements. Getting ready for grad nite. (May 6th) C. Juniors - meeting @ Speer Center on Jan 10th Meeting @ Speer Center on Jan 17th Juniors are getting ready for Fair Parking. They are also ordering prom kits. D. Sophomores - Fair parking with Juniors. Bar-B-Que Feb. 7th at Baseball Pre-Season Classic. Pre-Sale orders picked up at Cafeteria. E. Freshmen: No report F. Principal’s Report: There is a new Air-conditioning/refrigeration class offered at the high school thru SFCC. Florin Thaqi is the instructor. FCAT Writing test is Feb. 7 FCAT Test is scheduled for the end of Feb. – Mar 1st New Tile has been installed in the main hallways. We would like to continue to replace carpet with tile. Also, walls have been painted for a fresh look. I am meeting with Class sponsors and Club sponsors to begin some beautification projects around the school campus. V. New Business - None VI.
