DeSoto County High School SAC-School Advisory Council Minutes March 14th, 2005
Attendance: Lucille LaCava, Dennis Allen, Jena Roberts, Jolaine Konstantinidis, Debi Barnwell, Lois Heine, Bill Stanko, Betty Bynes, Marilyn Patton, Karen Allen, Tim Backer, Daniel Dubbert, Ms. Cross, Linda Shayman, James Goddard, and Anna Clausing.
Karen Allen started the meeting and Mr. Backer came later.
Minutes: The minutes were approved as read. Shayman/Bynes motion.
Treasurer's Report: Ms. LaCava reported that SAC has $10,693.00 left in the Special SAC account.
III. Old Business: A. Still no word on the sidewalk issue. B. School Repairs- Mr. Goddard reported the repairs are on going and on schedule. C. Ms. LaCava requested $1,500. (approximately $700 for 2 TV’s to replace old ones in 2 classrooms and $750 for the floating lab printer and ink cartridge.) approved Roberts/Allen motion. D .Band room chairs- Mr. Goddard said Mr. Sulzman should give him the request to be put in as an EBR. (Extraordinary Budget Request) E. School sign- no progress so far. F. Powder Puff game re-scheduled- March 31st. G. The slate of officers was elected for 2005-2006. H. The Orlando Opera will be here on March 28th.
IV. Reports: Renaissance: In Ms. Heuer's absence, Ms. LaCava reported that the next activity would be 4/22- a slide show. They are working on a teacher appreciation event. Tee shirts due in at the end of the week.
Seniors: No report available-still working towards all graduation activities. Juniors Prom, prom, and prom. 4/9 in the gym?! Sophomores: Candle sale ends 3/17. Made $470 selling ice tea at the rodeo. Signed concession stand contract with the band for 2005-2006. Freshman: No report available.
Principal: Mr. Goddard said FCAT went well, and thanked staff for a job well done. He is working on a better place for students to pick up information on scholarships available, maybe in the media center. He was having inventory lists from each classroom made up, as well as maintenance needed. He said Saturday school is doing well, and thanked SAC for funding. He thanked custodians for the clean up on Saturday, due to a leaky roof.
