DeSoto County High School

                                          SAC-School Advisory Council Minutes

                                                              April 11th, 2005

Attendance:

                    Dennis Allen, Shirley Adcock, Karen Allen, Linda Shayman, Daniel Dubbert,

                    James Goddard, Lucille LaCava, Tim Backer, Jolaine Konstantinidis, and

                   Anna Clausing.

I. Minutes:

                   The minutes were approved as read.

II. Treasurer's Report:

                   Ms. LaCava reported that there is $8,693.60 in available funds.

III. Old Business:

           1. Sidewalk issue. It has been found out that some of the existing sidewalks are not on the

               city easements. Mr. Backer told us that Mr. Cline would get the money to pay for the

               concrete if the easement issue is ever resolved. Sidewalks out the gate of the high

               school have been put into the EBR.

           2. School repairs are still on-going and moving ahead. Cafeteria renovations are starting.

               Media center had some damage and was closed for the week.

IV. Reports:

     A. Renaissance

         April 22nd will be the last program.

     B. Seniors:

         Moving ahead towards graduation-5/20/05.

         Grad nite- 4/23/05. Top 10%-5/3/05 at Owens school. Senior awards- 5/12/05 in the gym.

     C. Juniors:

         Prom in the gym went very well. Mr. Goddard complimented Junior class advisors.

     D. Sophomores       

         Class meeting 4/21 at 7:00 PM. at the fairgrounds. They will be discussing future projects.

     E. Freshmen:

         No report available.

     F. Principal:

         Graduation will be in the gym-7 tickets per Senior. Mr. Longenecker is trying to set up the telecast

         of the graduation. 4/14- 8th grade parent night. 4/16- Winter sports awards. 4/28-NHS induction.

         5/5-JROTC awards. 5/6-Band banquet/awards. 5/11-Florida orchestra. Band Spring Concert 5/10.

         Walmart is re-conditioning the high school's stage.

V. New Business:

       No new business.
